Meet Your Comprehensive Wealth Manager
Kent Fisher, CFA, CFP®
Founder & Senior Wealth Manager
Kent is the founder and Senior Wealth manager for the Southern Investment Management Collective (SIMC). He has 25+ years’ experience working with many of the world’s largest institutional investors before founding SIMC.
Kent holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, an MBA from McGill University and a BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).
Kent strongly believes in the value of financial education, and has taught Investments and Portfolio Management courses for McGill University at the graduate and undergraduate levels, CFA Preparation Courses for the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, and most recently has taught a Finance and Investments in Retirement course at Duke University’s OLLI program.
SIMC was created to get back to the basics of individual money management. “After a long and rewarding career in wealth management, I noticed that wealth management at the individual level left a lot to be desired. Loose regulation, conflicts of interest, and an informational imbalance are not serving the general public very well. Founding SIMC, and helping clients attain their financial goals, is my way of trying to make the world a little better by addressing some of these issues.”
Kent lives with his wife Ali in Chapel Hill. Kent loves almost all outdoor activities, old fashioned wood fired grills, and great wines under $20.
